INMAN – The Inman boys and girls hosted Remington at home Tuesday and sent the visitor home with a loss to the Teuton boys while they did leave with a win over the Lady Teutons.
The Teuton boys won by 27, 64-37 while the Lady Teutons got beat by 26, 58-32.
With the win, the Inman boys are now 13-4 while the Inman girls drop to 6-12. The Teutons will go on the road Friday to tangle with Little River.
In the boys game, the Teutons were tied with Remington at 10-10 at the end of the first quarter before putting 16 points on the board in the second quarter and holding the home team to just four, giving Inman a solid 12-point, 26-14 advantage at the halftime intermission.
In the final sixteen minutes of play, the Teutons put another 38 points on the board to just 23 for Remington, giving them the final 27 point victory.
“We played a full game on both ends tonight against a good Remington team,” pointed out Teuton head coach Brett Froese. “They are athletic and really put stress on you with how hard they drive it. I thought we really played well and were disruptive on the defensive end which is what they wanted to do. On the offensive end, I though we were just as good, moving the ball great tonight and had guys that we need to be aggressive on the offensive end do just that.”
Tanner Heckel and Eli Brunk had huge nights for the Teutons with 21 and 20 points, respectively.
Coach Froese concluded his post-game reflections by adding, “Eli (Brunk) has really been more assertive these last few games and he is capable of putting up some big numbers, something we need him to do for us. Tanner (Heckel), was Tanner, he was everywhere on both ends. Kendyn (Blank) and Harrison (Brunk) also had really nice all-around games for us.”
