SPEARVILLE – The Little River boys and girls went on the road Tuesday and brought home a pair of wins as the Redskin boys earned a 14-point, 50-36 win and the Lady Redskins gained an eight-point, 47-39 victory.

LADY REDSKINS WIN BY 8
In a game that was closer than many expected, the Lady Redskins still found a way to win.
Up by five, 11-6, at the end of the first quarter, Little River struggled to score the last few minutes of the second quarter and went into the halftime break only leading by seven.
Spearville bounced back in the third quarter and pulled to within one point of the Lady Redskins, 31-30, heading into the final eight minutes of play before Little River was able to pull away for the final eight-point win.
“Spearville is a very solid team,” explained Lady Redskin head coach Brent Clark. “We got in some early foul trouble with a couple of our guards so Kate (Ellwood), Amaya (Sneath), and MeKenzie (Renken) came in and played well until they got tired toward the end of the first half. We were up 21-7 when we struggled to score the last few minutes of the second quarter. It was another good team effort.”
Little River struggled at times and committed 20 turnovers and 19 personal fouls, though they dominated the paint with 39 rebounds.
Lily Boughfman had a big night for the Lady Redskins as she recorded a double-double with 17 points and 17 rebounds while also dishing out four assists and blocking five Spearville shots.
Raelynn Welsh also reached double digits in the scorebook with 10 points while Alaina Eck also dished out four assists and made three steals. Lily’s younger sister Elsie had a solid game with seven points, an assist, five rebounds, a steal and three blocked shots.
