BURRTON – The number three ranked in Class 1A Division I, Little River girls moved a step closer to the state tournament by humbling Macksville on Friday with a 16-point, 51-35 victory.

With the win, the Lady Redskins move to 19-1 for the season and will now play St. John on Saturday for the opportunity to go to state next week. St. John will come into the game with a record of 15-7 after beating Burrton 64-27 on Friday.

Little River ran out to a 12-point, 14-2, lead by the end of the first quarter and then held a 14-point, 26-12, advantage at the halftime break. While Macksville played better in the second half, they did not dent the deficit as the Lady Redskins went on to win by 16.

Aubrey Olander had a monster game as she recorded a double-double in leading the Lady Redskins in both scoring and rebounding with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Also having a huge game was Lily Boughfman as she scored 12 points, pulled down seven rebounds, stole four balls, and led the team in both assists with four and blocked shots with seven.

Alaina Eck joined Olander and Boughfman in double digits with 10.
