REMINGTON – Both the Little River boys and girls track/field teams finished second in the team standings on Tuesday at the six-team Remington Invitational.

The Lady Redskins finished with 122 team points, just four points behind Invite champion Remington who had 126. Hesston placed third with 111 while Elyria Christian was well behind at fourth with 38.

Hesston dominated the boys meet, winning with 208 points while the Redskin boys placed second with 101 points, well ahead of third-place Remington at 79.

For the Lady Redskins, they only scored three first-place finishes with Ashley Stephenson winning the triple jump and both the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relay quartets getting the other two first-place finishes.

The Little River girls did place second and third in both the 200 meters as well as the 300 meter hurdles.

Andrew Smith led the Little River boys with wins in the 100 and 400 meters and a second-place finish in the 200 meters. Treyton Olander and Rylan Konen also took first place in their events with Olander winning the 1,600 meters and Konen scoring a first-place medal in the triple jump.

Next up for the Little River track/field teams will be on Tuesday, April 19 when they run again at Remington in a meet to be hosted by Berean Academy.
