LITTLE RIVER – The bats were active on Tuesday for the Little River baseball team as they pounded out 18 hits that included four doubles, four triples, and a pair of home runs in their doubleheader sweep of Minneapolis, 6-4, and 14-10.

Still unbeaten on the season, the Redskins have time to rest before they return to the competitive diamond on Tuesday, April 19 with a doubleheader at Moundridge.

In game one, Logan Renken went the first six innings on the mound for the Redskins, giving up just three hits, three runs, walking four and striking out nine before Braden Young came on to work the seventh inning.

Braden Young had the big bat for Little River with a pair of hits which were a triple and a home run, giving him three runs batted in as well. Kaden Schafer also hit for a double.

For the nightcap Little River pounded out 13 hits, eight of which were for extra bases, on their way to scoring 14 runs. Braden Young again led the bats with three hits, this time getting a double and a triple. Among those who had a pair of hits were Grant Stephens, Kaden Schafer, and Logan Renken with Schafer’s two hits being a double and a home run. Renken hit for both a double and a triple while Stephens had a triple and Ty Herzog also hit for a double.
