MOUNDRIDGE – On Tuesday, the Canton/Galva went to Moundridge to compete in the 12-team Moundridge Invitational and despite missing a few athletes due to illness, the Eagle boys finished sixth while the Lady Eagles tied for tenth.

One of the highlights for the Lady Eagles was Mimi Craig taking third in the shot put while Brinley Becker placed sixth in the 200 meters.

For the Eagle boys, three athletes won a total of six medals.

Tyson Struber had his best throw of the season in the javelin which was good for second while he also placed third in the 100-meter dash. Christian Darrah brought home a pair of medals by taking second in the 1,600 meters with his personal best time and finishing sixth in the 800 meters as well. Wyatt Collins and Tanner Koehn also medaled with Collins finishing third in the shot put and Koehn taking sixth in the discus.

The Eagle track/field teams will now be prep for the Wheat State League Meet in Goessel on Thursday, May 12 which will be followed by the State Class 1A Regionals at Washington County on Thursday, May 19.
