INMAN – Earlier in the summer, the Kansas Cross Country and Track and Field Coaches Association honored Inman high head coach Lance Sawyer as the Class 2A Boys Track/Field coach of the year.
During the 2022 spring season, coach Sawyer led the Teuton boys track/field team to wins at the Hillsboro, Sterling, and Moundridge Invitationals before finishing out the regular season with a Heart of America League Meet championship for the second year in a row.
The Teutons then proceeded to be crowned the Class 2A Regional Track/Field champions before closing out the 2022 campaign with a third-place finish at the Class 2A state meet in Wichita.
Highlighting their run for a state track/field championship was a state championship in the 200 meters by Harrison Brunk, a second-place finish in the long jump for Tanner Heckel and a pair of second-place finishes by the 4×100 meter and 4×400 meter tandem of Eli Brunk, Heckel, Harrison Brunk, and Dawson Mannebach. Harrison Brunk also placed third in the 100 meters.
