AUGUSTA – The McPherson girls golf team made their first ever debut on Thursday in Augusta at the August Invitational and finished sixth.
Competing for the first time ever, the Lady Bullpups participated in a meet and finished sixth out of eight teams competing.
While none of the McPherson team medaled, head coach Treg Fawl noted, “We placed sixth out of eight teams in our first ever event in school history. I am extremely proud of our program and all of the girls.”
Andi Buschbom led the Lady Bullpups with a 21st finish while Jordan Vanderhoof also placed in the top-thirty at 27th.
Rounding out the group was Olivia Cheatham (31st), Amber Smith (34th), Aimee Leblanc (44th), Ella Buschbom (45th) and Reese Elliot (47th).
Next up for the Lady Bullpup golfers will be the 14-team Salina Central Invitational on Tuesday, September 6.
