WAMEGO – On Saturday the McPherson High cross-country teams ran at the Wamego Invitational where close to 50 schools were participating.

“The Wamego meet was a big meet on a challenging course,” noted head coach Nikolas Rempe. “It was a good early season indication of where we stacked up against many other Class 4A schools.”

For the Bullpup boys, they finished 11th and had one individual medalist in Ethan Elder.

The Lady Bullpups placed 12th as a team and also had a medalist with Chloe Clevenger.

Concluding his post-meet reflections, coach Rempe said, “Although we were missing several runners, both teams competed well, and each runner improved their times from the meet the previous week. Both Chloe (Clevenger) and Ethan (Elder) were able to bring home medals and our junior varsity runners all had very good days as several of them improved their times from last week by several minutes.”
