CANTON – On Tuesday the Little River volleyball team traveled to Canton for a triangular with Canton/Galva and Solomon and returned home with another pair of wins.
Currently ranked number one in Class 1A Division I by the Kansas Volleyball Association, the Lady Redskins made quick work of Solomon with a straight set victory (25-11, 25-6) before handling host Canton/Galva in straight sets as well, winning 25-21, 25-19.
“Two good league wins for us,” noted Lady Redskin head coach Kim Rolfs. “Canton/Galva is a much-improved team, and it was nice taking that one in two despite their home crowd. I wanted to thank them for creating a stressful environment in reference to their student section, it made for a challenge for us to focus on what we needed to do. It’s good to experience that kind of environment and learn to play through it.”
Chenzi Debaere led Little River in assists with 20 while also making five service aces. Kate Ellwood chipped in with 12 assists as well.
Three Lady Redskins recorded double digit kills for the night as Alaina Eck, Kami Grasser, and Aubrey Olander had 16, 11, and 10 kills, respectively. Mea Debaere topped the team in making digs with 16.
