INMAN – Currently ranked number four in Class 2A, the Inman volleyball team powered past Berean Academy and Remington in home duals Tuesday and Thursday.
On Tuesday, the Lady Teutons needed three sets (25-21, 21-25, 25-17) to beat Berean Academy in the first match of two before winning the nightcap in straight sets 25-18, 25-17.
Suttyn Harris, just a freshman, continued to have a superb season by recording 31 kills on 57 attacks while making 24 digs and getting six blocks.
Chloe Schmidt pitched in with 18 kills on 42 attacks while getting 14 blocks, and Kambrey Woods directed the Inman offense by dishing out 54 assists.
Things with Remington on Thursday went a bit easier for the Lady Teutons as they scored straight set wins in both matches, taking the first match 25-15, 25-10 before closing out the sweep in the second match 25-8, 25-9.
“My passers did an excellent job reading the ball tonight,” said head coach Megan Heckel. “We were also getting the passes to the setter which then allowed our hitters to put the ball away. Our serves were much better tonight as we only missed two the entire night.”
Kambrey Woods again did an outstanding job directing the Inman offense with 40 assists while Suttyn Harris recorded another 26 kills on 45 attacks to go with seven blocks.
Others noted by the coaches for the work the did against Remington included Maci Neufeld for going 29/29 on serves and Chloe Schmidt who had 10 kills on 18 attacks to go with four blocks.
Now 18-2 for the season, the Lady Teutons return to the competitive court on Tuesday when they travel to Sedgwick.
