            LITTLE RIVER – Despite having nearly half the number of offensive snaps, the Little River football team was still able to put thumping on Solomon at home on Friday, winning 56-6 in a point rule game over with by halftime.

            Solomon ran 48 plays on offense while the Redskins needed but 25 to gain the win, though Little River gained 317 yards in total offense to just 147 for the visitors. Of those yards for Little River, most came on four scoring plays of over 30 yards.

            In the first quarter Braden Young scored the first two touchdowns of the game for the Redskins, one on a 36-yard run and then another on a 31-yard pass play from Rylan Konen. Little River took a 22-0 lead by the end of the first when Braxton Lafferty rumbled in from 10-yards out.

            The Redskins then put the game away by halftime due to point rule as they put five more scores on the board in 12 minutes. Braxton Lafferty scored twice at the beginning of the quarter on runs of 52 and 12 yards before Solomon snuck in a five-yard scoring run for their lone score of the game. Rylan Konen then topped a Redskin drive off with a two-yard run before he finished out the game by throwing scoring passes of 17 and 46 yards to Andrew Smith to give Little River the final 56-6 win.

            Konen ended the game completing four of seven for a total of 112 yards passing and the three scores.

            Lafferty finished the game with a total of 136 yards rushing on just 11 carries while Young had 52 on five totes.

            The two scores were Andrew Smith’s only two receptions of the game for Little River.

            On defense, Toby Jesseph let the Redskins with six tackles while Lafferty, Braden Young and Corbin Herbst each recorded four.

            Now 3-1 for the season and ranked number three in 8-Man Division I, the Redskins will go on the road next week to Moundridge who will enter the game 2-2.
