ELLINWOOD – The Class 1A top-ranked Inman football team continued to roll as they shutout Ellinwood 38-0 on the road on Friday.
With the victory the Teutons remain unbeaten at 6-0 with another road trip on the horizon next Friday at Conway Springs. Conway Springs is just 3-3 for the season but on a three-game winning streak after hammering Sterling 46-8 on Friday.
The Teutons scored twice in the first quarter on a 22-yard pass and catch from Josiah Buller to Eli Brunk as well as a one-yard dive into the end zone by Samuel Shober to give them a 14-0 lead.
Buller threw for three more touchdowns in the second quarter on 44 and 52 yards to Harrison Brunk with a second scoring pass to Eli Brunk in between from 25 yards out, giving Inman a commanding 32-0 lead at the halftime break.
Kellen Schrag closed out the scoring for the Teutons in the third quarter on when he broke lose for a 54 yard scoring run.
As a team, the Teutons needed just 39 plays to cover 400 yards in total offense with it being equally split between passing (186 yards) and rushing (214 yards). While they did lose 38 yards on six penalties, the Inman defense held Ellinwood to just 65 yards in total offense on 52 snaps of the ball.
Buller ended the game completing eight-of-thirteen for 186 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.
Running the ball, Kellen Schrag led Inman with 89 yards while Brant Mikulecky ran for 54 on just three carries and Samuel Shober had 47 on six totes.
Harrison Brunk caught four of Buller’s passes for 99 yards while brother Eli had three receptions for 88 yards.
Leading the defense was Samuel Shober with 10, Eli Brunk with nine, Zachary Martisko with eight and Harrison Brunk, TJ Froese, and Zaden Johnson all recording seven. As a team the Teutons recorded five quarterback sacks and had 10 tackles that resulted in a loss of yardage with TJ Froese getting a pair of those sacks while he dropped Ellinwood for a loss three times.
