            HUTCHINSON – Canton/Galva, ranked number two in 8-Man Division II, lived up to their ranking on Friday when they went on the road to Hutchinson Central Christian and earned a point-rule 46-0 win.

            With the victory, the Eagles are now 6-0 for the season as they return home on Friday for a game with St. John’s/Tipton Catholic of Beloit. The Bluejays are 5-1 for the season and will coming off a 50-20 win over Lakeside.

            The Eagles put 32 points on the scoreboard in the first quarter beginning with a short two-yard run by Isom Marsten which was then followed up by three scoring runs from quarterback Garrett Maltbie from three, six, and 57 yards.

            Canton/Galva closed out the scoring for the game in the second quarter on another scoring scamper from Garrett Maltbie, this one covering 42 yards, plus a Maltbie to Jett Vincent pass play that covered 55 yards for a touchdown. At halftime, the Eagles were up 46-0, giving them another 45-point rule win.

            Not only did the Eagles dominate the scoring, but they also dominated the stat sheet as they totaled 355 yards in offense on just 29 plays, including 158 from passing and 197 running. Canton/Galva had the ball on offense for nearly 26 minutes while Central Christian only spent 10 minutes trying to make yards.

            Maltbie accounted for 297 yards in total offense by running for 139 yards on just seven carries and completing eight-of-twelve passes for 158 yards. Jett Vincent ran for 56 yards on nine totes while gathering in five passes for another 115.

            On defense, the Eagles held Central Christian to a meager 42 yards of offense on 30 snaps, including seven yards on 11 attempts to run the ball.

            Maltbie led the defense with five tackles while both TJ Koehn and Wyatt Collins recorded four.
