            VALLEY CENTER – In their first time on the competitive mats since the Thanksgiving break, the McPherson Middle School wrestlers went on the road to Valley Center on Tuesday and scored a pair of wins over host Valley Center as well as Derby North.

            Getting a complete sweep of the triangular was good for the Junior Pups as they won by 13, 58-45 over Valley Center before thumping Derby North by a whopping 72 points, 90-18.

            Against Valley Center, McPherson won 11 of 19 matches counting being open with no wrestler at 75 pounds. Of those 11 wins, 10 were by a fall.

            In the thrashing of Derby North, the Junior Pups won 15 of 19 matches, again with no wrestler at 75 pounds while scoring 12 of those victories by a fall.

            The Junior Pups had nine wrestlers who went unbeaten by falls on the day including Kynasen Hancock, Parker Hulvey, Noah Garcia, Zach Elbert, Garet Wedel, Tacen Williams, Ryker Bascue, Dylan Hall and Jayce Gunn.
