LITTLE RIVER – Even with just a few practices due to football playoffs, the Little River boys basketball team hit the hardwood at full speed ahead at home on Friday as they hosted Lincoln and scored a 51-point, 74-23 victory.
Little River ran out to a commanding 27-3 lead by the end of the first quarter and put another 27 points in the scorebook in quarter two to hold a whopping 42-point, 54-12 lead going into the halftime break.
While the scoring slowed down in the final two quarters, Little River still outscored the visitors 20-11 to reach their final 51-point spread win.
Braxton Lafferty led the scoring with 29 points while Andrew Smith chipped in with 12 and Logan Renken put 10 in the scorebook while Dalton Mantz just missed double digits with nine.
Mantz directed the Little River offense and dished out seven assists while both he and Lafferty had the quick hands playing defense with each recording six of the Redskins 21 steals.
On Tuesday, Little River will begin play at the Goessel Bluebird Classic Tournament as the first of three games.
