            LITTLE RIVER – It was a highly successful home and season opener for the Little River girls basketball team on Friday as they hammered Lincoln at home, winning 65-18.

            The Lady Redskins jumped out to a 17-4 lead by the end of the first quarter and held a commanding 32-point, 42-10 advantage when they broke for the halftime break.

            After Little River put up 21 more points in the third quarter to Lincoln’s eight, both teams cruised in for the final Lady Redskin 47-point victory.

            One team stat that stood out was how Little River pulled down 35 rebounds in the game including a whopping 21 on the offensive boards for second chance opportunities.

            Aubrey Olander recorded a double-double in leading the Lady Redskins in scoring with 22 and rebounding with 11 while Alaina Eck chipped in with 12 points. A total of nine players put points in the scorebook for Little River.

            A look ahead for the Little River fans, 11 players put numbers in the stat sheets and of those 11, only one was a senior, five were juniors and five were freshman.

            Next up for the Lady Redskins will come on Tuesday, December 6 in the first game of the Goessel Bluebird Classic tournament.
