            GOESSEL – On Saturday the Little River boys closed out their part in the Goessel Bluebird Classic by tangling with host Goessel and scoring a 20-point, 66-46 win.

            With the victory, Little River is now 3-1 for the season as they prep to play host to Moundridge on Tuesday. Moundridge entered the weekend ranked number one in Class 2A and is 3-1 on the season as well.

            After only holding a two-point, 16-14 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Redskins put 16 points on the board again in the second quarter while holding Goessel to just seven, giving Little River an 11-point, 32-21 advantage going into the mid-game break.

            Little River continued to play consistent ball in the second half, scoring 20 points in the third quarter and 14 in the fourth while holding Goessel to a combined 25 points to earn the final 20-point victory.

            Kayston Cox led the Redskins in scoring with 20 points while Rylan Konen and Andrew Smith both reached double digits as well with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Braxton Lafferty just missed making double figures with nine while he did lead the team in assists with four and steals with four.

            Rylan Konen and Smith topped the work on the boards for Little River as they both pulled down seven rebounds.
