            CANTON – Lili Espinoza, one of the Canton/Galva leaders for both volleyball and basketball, put her signature Wednesday on a letter-of-intent to attend Hesston College for volleyball.

            Espinoza, who transferred to Canton/Galva from Centre after her sophomore season, has been a mainstay for the Lady Eagle basketball and volleyball seasons the past two years.

            For the Lady Eagle volleyball program, Espinoza finished the 2022 season with 197 kills, 24 ace serves and 312 digs after putting up 90 kills, 22 ace serves and 181 digs in 2021.

            “I see Hesston College as a highly friendly and familiar environment I have experienced,” said Espinoza. “My older sisters are part of the Hesston Community which helps.”

            Espinoza is planning to pursue a degree and career in sports medicine while at Hesston where she also plans to play some flag football as well.

            As for her time at Canton/Galva, Espinoza noted, “I have many great memories here at Canton/Galva. I have been blessed to attend Canton/Galva for these past two years because of the wonderful environment that my teachers, peers, and community has created. I am incredibly excited to continue my journey at Hesston.”
