LITTLE RIVER – It was over in the first quarter on Tuesday as the Little River boys pounded visiting Herington to the tune of a 40-point, 64-24 victory.
The win left the Redskins with a 5-2 record heading into the holiday break. Little River will return to the competitive hardwood on Friday, January 6 when they play host to Peabody/Burns.
In the first quarter, Little River jumped out to a 19-2 lead and headed to the halftime break holding a 19-point, 29-10 advantage. Coming out of the break, the Redskins poured 26 points on the scoreboard to put the game out of reach as they cruised in for the final 40-point win.
Braxton Lafferty led Little River in scoring with 20 while Logan Renken chipped in with 14 thanks to four three-pointers and Jaxson Konen used his three three-pointers to just miss double digits with nine.
Lafferty also led the team in steals with six while co-leading Little River in rebounds with Rylan Konen as they both grabbed five each. Logan Renken directed the offense by dishing out six assists though Lafferty passed out five.
