INMAN – The Inman boys and girls basketball teams collectively outscored visiting Burrton 122 to 45 on Friday on their way to a pair of dominating wins.

With the victory the Teuton boys are now 6-2 for the season while the Lady Teutons evened out their season record to 4-4. The two teams will host Hutchinson Trinity on Tuesday before going on the road to Marion next Friday.

For the Inman boys, all were wondering how they would react after the heartbreaking one-point loss to Sterling on Tuesday – they did just fine as they bounced out to a 15-point, 22-7 first quarter lead before taking a commanding 27-point, 39-12 advantage into the halftime break.

Coming out of the break, the Teutons poured another 24 points on the scoreboard in the third quarter before slowing things down to cruise in for the final 47-point, 70-23 victory.

“We started out pretty quick tonight and jumped on Burrton early,” noted Teuton head coach Brett Froese in his post-game reflections. “We have worked on some things the past couple of days and it was nice to work on the same stuff during an actual game. Nice bounce back after we kind of gave away the game on Tuesday.”

Tanner Heckel led the Teutons in scoring with 23 points while both Josiah Buller and Eli Brunk each reached double digits themselves with 13 and 10 points, respectively. TJ Froese just missed making it four Teutons in double digits as he chipped in with nine.

In the early game, the Lady Teutons took a six-point, 17-11 first quarter lead and built it out to a 14-point, 30-16 advantage as the teams headed to the halftime break. In the final two quarters, the Lady Teutons outscored Burrton 22-6 in gaining the final 30-point, 52-22 win.

Once again the Lady Teutons were led by freshman Suttyn Harris who dominated the game in scoring more points than the entire Burrton team, finishing with 25 points to go with five rebounds, four steals and four assists. It helped that Harris was able to knock down nine of twelve free throws as well.
