MOUNDRIDGE – The Moundridge girls earned their second win of the 2023 side of their schedule on Friday, using a couple of strong middle quarters to beat Marion by 13, 52-39.

With the win the Lady Wildcats improve their record to 3-5 as they prep for a pair of road games next week, going to Bennington on Tuesday and then traveling to Remington on Friday.

“Offensively, some things really clicked for us tonight,” noted Lady Wildcat head coach Kaleigh Huxman in her brief post-game reflections. “I thought we played good team defense and were able to turn our defense into offense. I am really proud of the way my girls played in this game.”

Moundridge trailed by five, 14-9, at the end of the first quarter before they bounced back and put 18 points on the board in the second quarter to gain a five-point, 27-22 advantage heading into the halftime break.

Coming out of the break, the Lady Wildcats put another 16 points on the board while holding Marion to just eight, giving them a commanding 13-point lead heading into the final quarter where they cruised in for the final 13- point victory.
