LITTLE RIVER – It was not ever close from the opening tip to the final buzzer, the Little River girls literally buried visiting Peabody/Burns on Friday with a whopping 91-point, 95-4 win.

With the win, the number one ranked Lady Redskins move to 8-0 on the season as they prep for a pair of road trips, going to Goessel on Tuesday before traveling to Rural Vista on Friday.

The Little River defense smothered Peabody/Burns, holding them to zero points through the entire first half while putting up 35 points in the first quarter and another 36 in the second to take a 71-0 lead into the halftime break. After shutting out the visitors again in the third quarter, Peabody/Burns managed to put four points on the board in the final quarter.

Two team stats that stick out were the 43 rebounds pulled down by the Lady Redskins while the defense stole the ball 29 times.

Five Little River girls connected for double digits in scoring led by Aubrey Olander with 18, Alaina Eck and Lucy Wright each had 14 while both Evie Look and Havana Olander chipped in with 11. A total of 10 Lady Redskins put at least four points in the scorebook on the night.

Havana Olander just missed a double-double as she led the team in rebounds with nine with her sister hauling in seven and Arika Feldman pulled down six. 10 Lady Redskins recorded at least a pair of rebounds while eleven had a minimum of one assist and one steal by their name in the stat sheets as well.
