HOISINGTON – On Thursday the Smoky Valley girls wrestling team traveled to Hoisington to participate in the Cardinal Roundr-Robin Wrestling Invitational where they place second as a team and earned three first-place individual championships.
Team wise, the Lady Vikings finished runner-up with 92.5 points to host Hoisington who racked up 185.0 points. Rounding out the top five of 18 teams participating were Anthony/Harper/Chapparal at third (69.5), Ellis in fourth (56.0), and Plainville in fifth (53.0).
Individually, Smoky Valley scored three Invitational champions with Noelle Peters at 105, Kenzie Crain at 115, and Keira Mullen at 135.
Next up for the Lady Viking grapplers will be on Tuesday when they wrestle at Nickerson.
SMOKY VALLEY LADY VIKING RESULTS:
105 lbs. > Sara McCullick went 2-2, placed 3rd.
110 lbs. > Noelle Peters went 5-0, placed 1st.
115 lbs. > Kenzie Crain went 5-0, placed 1st.
115 lbs. > Echo Clark went 1-4, placed 5th.
120 lbs. > Taytum Reed went 3-2, placed 3rd.
130 lbs. > Campbell Gaskill went 2-3, placed 4th.
135 lbs. > Keira Mullen went 3-0, placed 1st.
