MARION – On the road on Friday at Marion, the Inman boys raced to an early lead and never let up on the throttle as they scored a 40-point, 71-31 win.

Now 8-2 for the season and ranked number eight by catchitkansas.com, the Teutons will play in the Burrton Mid-Season Tournament beginning Monday.

“I really like how the kids came out and played tonight,” pointed out Brett Froese, Inman head coach. “I thought defensively, we really set the tone early and then our offense really got going from that.”

Inman raced out to a 12-point, 17-5 lead by the end of the first quarter before the offense poured 25 points on the board in the second quarter to give them a commanding 30-point, 42-12 halftime advantage.

Coming out of the break, the Teutons pushed the lead out to 41 points at 60-19 heading into the final quarter where they cruised in for the final 40-point victory.

Tanner Heckel led the Teutons in scoring with 22 points while three others joined him in double digits with Brody Froese hitting for 15, Zach Martisko scored 11 and Eli Brunk had 10.

Coach Froese concluded his post-game reflections by adding, “The kids really moved and shared the ball tonight. We also were good on the glass which got us out in transition. I really like the focus and energy we have had since our game at Sterling on January 3.”
