While many in the area are concentrating on the McPherson Boys Tournament, most of the six area McPherson County high schools are also participating in various tournaments throughout central Kansas.
Closest to home will be the Canton/Galva tournament where they host eight team that begin on Tuesday night with a matchup of McPherson County schools – Canton/Galva and Moundridge.
Elyria Christian has both the Eagle boys and Lady Eagles playing in the Centre Cougar Classic beginning on Tuesday when the Lady Eagles will battle host Centre while the Eagle boys take on Marion.
Both the Inman and Little River boys are playing this week in the Burrton Tournament where the Teuton boys were scheduled to begin play on Monday against host Burrton while the Redskin boys are scheduled to begin play on Tuesday in a battle with Berean Academy.
Smoky Valley has both the boys and girls teams traveling to Sterling where the Viking boys were scheduled to the top ranked team in Class 3A, Southeast of Saline. The Lady Vikings were on the schedule to begin play with Hugoton on Tuesday.
Three area teams, the Moundridge, Inman and Little River girls are all scheduled to have the week off before the Lady Wildcats and Lady Teutons travel to Sedgwick for a tournament. The Lady Redskins, currently unbeaten at 10-0 and ranked number one in Class 1A Division I, will play next week in the Berean Academy Girls Tournament where they could catch a game against the Berean Academy girls who are ranked number one in Class 2A.
