SEDGWICK – On Friday the Inman girls closed out their play in the Sedgwick Tournament coming up short late and losing to host Sedgwick by four at 40-36 to place fourth in the tournament.
The loss drops the Lady Teutons to 7-6 for the season as they prep to play host to Berean Academy on Tuesday.
In a recap of the tournament, Inman lost their first game to county rival Moundridge 59-36 before winning game two 47-34 over Belle Plaine.
Sedgwick jumped out to an early 10-point, 15-5 lead over the Lady Teutons in the first quarter before Inman pulled back to within five at 25-20 at the halftime break. Falling behind by nine at the end of the third quarter, the Lady Teutons rallied hard in the fourth and outscored Sedgwick 12-7 but came up short and lost by four.
Freshman Suttyn Harris led the Lady Teutons with 22 points while also grabbing nine rebounds and recording four steals. Harris went four-for-four in her three-point shots in the game. Morgan Froes chipped in with eight points and Kenna Woods grabbed 10 rebounds.
For the tournament, Harris scored 59 points in three games and was named to the all-tourney team.
