SALINA – Not only did the McPherson Middle School seventh-grade boys get a pair of wins on the road over Salina South, they helped head coach Jay Crawford earn win number 175 of his McPherson Middle School coaching career.
Crawford now has a record of 175-31 which according to coach Crawford, shows how much talent has come through our school.
As for the games on Thursday at Salina South, the ‘A’ team hammered the home team with a 30-point, 45-15 win while the ‘B’ team scored a heart stopping one-point, 27-26 win to give the Junior Pups a sweep for the day.
Next up for the seventh-grade Junior Pups will be a home matchup with Goddard Eisenhower.
“The guys came out ready to play and they really got after it on the defensive end of the court,” noted coach Crawford. “They gave relentless effort over and over. Salina South was never really able to run their offense or feel comfortable against our pressure. We were then able to get out on the break and get some easy baskets.”
