MOUNDRIDGE – Tuesday, the Moundridge girls used a stiff defense to help shutdown Ell-Saline and record a 13-point, 57-44 win.

The win puts the season mark for the Lady Wildcats at 8-7 as they prepare for a huge cross county rivalry battle with Inman on Friday.

It was all offense in the first quarter as the Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 24-16 lead before holding Ell-Saline to just five points in the second quarter while scoring a dozen to give Moundridge a commanding 15-point, 36-21 advantage heading to the halftime break. After the Lady Wildcats extended their lead to 19 at 47-28 by the end of the third quarter, Ell-Saline was able to chip a few points off their deficit though it was not enough to keep Moundridge from earning the final 13-point victory.

Addy Patrick connected on a pair of three-pointers on her way to leading the Lady Wildcats offense with 18 points while Kindall Elmore scored 14 and Macy Kaminkow chipped in with 11. Cammi Unruh just missed double digits with nine.
