            TOWANDA – On the road Friday and Saturday participating in the 32nd Annual Circle Invitational, the Smoky Valley boys wrestling team managed to finish third among 22 teams.

            Scoring 120.0 points, the Vikings placed third, finishing behind Invitational team champion Buhler (187.0), second-place Council Grove (132.5), and ahead of fourth-place Halstead (97.5), and fifth-place Bluestem/Flint Hills (95.0).

            While no Smoky Valley grappler finished first, Connor Barnes at 126 and Parker Gardner at 175 both completed the day with a record of 3-1 and a second-place medal.

            Deonte Crain, wrestling at 106 and Justin Holt, wrestling at 215, went 4-1 for the day and placed third while Richard Zeller ended up fourth at 190 after going 3-2.

            Next up for the Viking boys and girls wrestlers will be the league meet at Halstead on February 9.
