MCPHERSON – Opening day for the 2023 season came on Thursday in McPherson for the Elyria Christian track/field teams as they participating in the unique unlimited entry, no team scoring McPherson County Early Season Invitational.

For the Lady Eagles they earned seven top-five finishes on the day, including four first, one second, one third, and one fifth place landings.
Laney Reiff earned a pair of the first-place wins in the 800 and 1,600 meters while Grace Prescott won the 400 meters, and Ryland Hawkinson had the best javelin throw of the event.
Blake Robertson taking second in both the discus and javelin highlighted the Eagle boys.
Next up for the Elyria Christian tracksters will be on Tuesday, April 4 at Solomon.
