LITTLE RIVER TRACK/FIELD OPEN SEASON AT MCPHERSON

            MCPHERSON – The Little River track/field teams opened their 2023 season on Thursday at the McPherson County Early Season Invitational where a team can have unlimited entries and no team scoring is kept.

            While they may not have had team scoring, the Little River boys and girls put a lot of entries in the meet and finished with 19 top five finishes for the Lady Redskins while the Redskin boys had five.

            Three Lady Redskins won events including a pair of wins in the high jump and triple jump for Havana Olander while sister Aubrey Olander won the 300 meter hurdles.

            Overall the Little River girls also placed either second or fourth in four events and finished third or fifth in five others. In the triple jump that was won by Havana Olander, the Lady Redskins also finished third (Alaina Eck), fourth (Ashley Stephenson) and fifth (Arkia Feldman). Feldman also placed third behind Havana Olander in the high jump and Havana was third behind sister Aubrey in the 300 meter hurdles.

            For the Little River boys, Andrew Smith and Braxton Lafferty each had second place finishes in the high jump and long jump respectively.

            Next up on the calendar for the Little River track/field teams will be on Tuesday, April 4 when they travel to Remington.
