WILDCATS SHINE IN 2023 TRACK/FIELD OPENER

            MCPHERSON – On Thursday the Moundridge track/field teams opened their 2023 season at the McPherson County Early Season Invitational where no team scoring was kept and schools could enter as many athletes as they wanted in events.

            For the Moundridge boys and girls, the finished the day with 15 top five finishes including 12 by the Wildcat boys.

            For the Wildcats, MacKaleb Unruh in the 100 meters and Finn Burge in the 3,200 meters led the way with first place finishes. Kaden Elmore placed second to Unruh in the 100 meters while Burge had teammates Reid Graber and Coulter Adolf run second and third behind him in the 3,200 meters.

            The Moundridge boys finished the day with the two first place finishes, four second, a pair of thirds, one fourth and three fifth place finishes.

            For the Lady Wildcats, Cammi Unruh and Haylee Jantz turned in the best performances as Jantz placed second in the 1,600 meters and Unruh finished second in the 200 meters and third in the 100 meters.

            Up next for the Wildcat track teams will be on Tuesday, April 4 when they participate at the Solomon Invitational.
