REMINGTON – On Tuesday the Little River track/field teams took to the road to participate in the six-team Remington Invitational where both the Lady Redskins and Redskin boys dominated while winning both team titles and earning a total of 14 first-place individual finishes.

The Lady Redskins won the team title with 120 points, while host Remington was second at 106 and Fairfield was a distance behind in third with 39.
Little River earned a total of 25 finishes that picked up team points with seven of those being first-place gold. The girls also had five second-place finishes, six third, five fourth and a pair of fifth place finishes.
Among the event winners were Kami Grasser (100), Ashley Stephenson (800), Aubrey Olander (300 hurdles) with Alaina Eck and Havana Olander tying for first in the triple jump. Eck, Grasser, and Stephenson had two other title runs as legs on the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams along while Aubrey Olander earned a second gold with 4×400 and Elsie Boughfman had the fourth leg of the 4×100 relay quartet.
In both the high jump and triple jump, the Lady Redskins earned four of the five possible medals for the event.
For the Little River boys, they dominated the meet with 120 team points for first-place while Canton/Galva ended up second with 58 and host Remington had 56. Fairfield, Sedgwick and Lyons were the other three teams competing.
The Redskins totaled 25 point earning medals with seven of those being gold for first place.
Treyton Olander had a pair of individual golds in the 800 and 1,600 meters while Brady Obley won the 3,200, Andrew Smith took first in the high jump, Rylan Konen in the long jump and Braxton Lafferty topped the javelin.
Smith, Konen and Lafferty plus Toby Jesseph ran the four legs of the 4×100 meter relay team that also took first.
The Redskin boys dominated three events as they finished second through fifth in the triple jump, placed four of the top five in the high jump and ran three of the top five in the 100 meters.
Next up for the Little River track/field teams will be Tuesday, April 11 at the Lyons Invitational.
