            LITTLE RIVER – It was a rough Tuesday for the Little River softball team as they stumbled twice in hosting Ell-Saline, losing by eight, 30-22 in game one before dropping the nightcap 22-1.

            Still looking for their first win of 2023, the Lady Redskins will be on the road Friday looking for a win or two at Hutchinson Trinity.

            While the score 30-22 in game one looked like it may be a slugfest, truth was the two teams combined for 25 errors though Little River did hammer out 16 hits that included three doubles and a triple.

            Both teams scored at least a pair of runs each in all but the fourth inning with Little River being led by Kinsley Wohletz who went 5-for-5 on the day while knocking in five runs and scoring four times herself. Courtney Stansbury had three hits including a double and Katie Collins hit for a double as well with Lucy Wright hammering out the triple.

            Jailyn Miller went the full game on the mound for Little River.

            In the second game, Little River gave up three runs or more in all but one inning as they struggled to score just once in the bottom of the fourth. The Lady Redskins again had troubles on defense, committing nine errors in the second game and giving them a total of 24 errors in the doubleheader.

            Two of the Lady Redskins four hits in the nightcap went for doubles by Jailyn Miller and Ille Debaere.

            Miller, Courtney Stansbury and Kinsley Wohletz shared time on the mound for Little River.
