LITTLE RIVER – It was all Little River baseball on Tuesday as they hosted Ell-Saline for a doubleheader and hammered the visitors twice, 26-1 and 15-0, in two run ruled shortened contests.
With the wins, the Redskins remain unbeaten at 6-0 for the season as they ready to take a road trip to play Hutchinson Trinity on Thursday.

In game one, Ell-Saline punched a run across in the top of the first before Little River poured across 10. After the Redskins added 16 more in the second the game was over with Little River getting the dominating 26-1 win.
Little River only needed 12 hits in the game with Spencer Strecker being the big gun with three hits of which two were home runs as he collected eight runs batted in while scoring three times himself. Braden Young also had three hits in the game with two doubles. Also hitting a pair of doubles was CJ Herzog while Dalton Mantz and Grant Stephens each had one. The Redskins ran wild on the bases, collecting 11 stolen bases in just two innings with Carter Stansbury swiping three and both Young and Kayston Cox each taking two.
Logan Renken went two innings on the mound, throwing 36 pitches while giving up just a pair of hits, one earned run, one walk and striking out five. Grant Stephens pitched the third inning in relief.
Dalton Mantz threw a four inning, one-hit, shutout in game two while giving up no walks and striking out 10 as Little River scored the 15-0 victory.
Little River jumped on Ell-Saline early with eight runs in the first, one in the second, and five more in the third.
Braden Young had three hits and three runs batted in while hitting for a double, stealing three bases and scoring three times as well. Young finished the day going 6-for-7 with three doubles, seven runs batted in, seven runs scored and five stolen bases.
Grant Stephens also hit well with a triple.
Again, the Redskins ran wild on the bases collecting another 18 stolen bases giving them 29 stolen bases in just two games. Besides Young, Mantz, Spencer Strecker, Carter Stansbury, and CJ Herzog also stole three in the second game.
