            HUTCHINSON – It continues to be power offense for the Little River baseball team as they hammered out three doubles, eight triples and a home run on Thursday in dominating Hutchinson Trinity on the road with 17-2 and 13-3 victories.

            With the two wins the Redskins are now 8-0 for the season as they now get ready to play host to Bennington on Tuesday before traveling to area rival Inman on Friday next week.

            It took just three innings for Little River to run-rule Trinity in game one, putting up 10 runs in the first followed by four in the second and three in the third while holding Trinity to just a pair of runs in the second in gaining the 15-run, 17-2 win.

            Braden Young, Spencer Strecker and CJ Herzog all had three hits in leading the Redskins during the shortened game, with Young hammering out a pair of triples, Herzog hitting for a three-bagger and Strecker belting a home run. Herzog recorded four runs batted in while Strecker, Carter Stansbury and Young all scored three times. As team the Redskins hit five triples in just three innings with Kayston Cox and Stansbury accounting for the other two.

            Strecker worked all three innings on the mound for Little River and threw just 45 pitches, giving up four hits, a pair of earned runs, walking just one and striking out three.

            Game two went a full seven innings with Little River getting a pair of runs in the first, three in the third, two more in each of the fifth and sixth innings before pushing across four in the seventh.

            Grant Stephens led the Redskins in game two as he went 4-for-4 with a double and triple while knocking in three runs and scoring three times. Spencer Strecker and Braden Young each had three hits with Young hammering out a pair of triples. Strecker also accounted for four runs batted in. Five Redskins each stole a pair of bases in the game as well.

            Young threw a 95-pitch complete game for Little River, giving up seven hits, a pair of earned runs, walking just one and striking out eight.

            For the doubleheaders Braden Young and Spencer Strecker put up some impressive numbers as Young finished the day 6-for-7 with 4 triples, 4 stolen bases and six runs scored while Strecker went 6-for-8 with seven runs batted in.
