            LYONS – ON Tuesday, the Little River track/field teams traveled to Lyons for a six-team meet and while the Lady Redskins dominated, the Redskin boys scored a lot but finished second.

            The Lady Redskins scored seven individual and two relay wins to total nine first-place finishes led by Aubrey Olander who won individually in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles while also running a leg on the champion 4xr400 meter relay team.

            Both Kami Grasser and Ashley Stephenson also won three golds with Grasser winning the 200 meters and Stephenson winning the 800 meters while both ran legs on both winning relay teams.

            Other individual winners were Kate Ellwood in the pole vault, Havana Olander in the triple jump and Kinsley Wohletz in the shot put.

            Overall, the Little River girls finished in the top-three 18 times and in the top-six for team points a total of 26 times in the meet as they won the meet with 185.50 points. Elyria Christian finished second in the team standing followed by Solomon..

            For the Little River boys, they recorded five individual and one relay event winners with a total of 16 placing in the top three and 23 making team points by finishing in the top six. As a team the Redskins closed out with 145 points to finish second, just 1.5 points behind meet champion Lyons.

            Andrew Smith led the Redskins with individual wins in the 100 and 400 meters plus the high jump while also running a leg on the winning 4×100 meter relay team. Braxton Lafferty also ran a leg on the winning relay team plus he won both the javelin and triple jump.

            The Redskin tracksters will be back in competitive action on Tuesday, April 18 at Douglass.
