            GOESSEL – On Tuesday despite the wind, the Inman track/field teams dominated both the boys and girls divisions of a six-team meet in Goessel hosted by Elyria Christian.

            The Teuton boys won the team title with 204 points, a solid 66 points ahead of runner-up Goessel with 138. Fairfield, Centre, Elyria Christian, and Peabody/Burns were the other teams competing.

            On the girls side, the Lady Teutons also dominated by winning the team title with 190 points, 74 points ahead of second-place Elyria Christian.

            Overall, in the meet, the Lady Teutons finished first eight times while placing in the top five a total of 24 times.

            Madilyn Heflin led the Lady Teutons by running away with both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles that included a new school record in the 100-meter hurdles. Heflin had a time of 15.74 which knocked .25 off her previous school record. The time also ranks her first in Class 2A and 13th overall class divisions.

            Other Inman girls winning first-place medals on the day were Maider Fernandez in the 100 meters, Chloe Schmidt in the discus, and Brylee Mannebach in the triple jump plus all three of the relay teams.

            Heflin, Fernandez, and Madelyn Brunk ran legs on both the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relays with Rebecca Black joining them in the 4×400 and Addison Wedel ran the first leg of the 4×100 relay. Allee Mannebach, Abigail Siemens, Dakota Nees and Rebecca Black ran the four legs of the winning 4×800 relay.

            For the Teuton boys, they recorded 26 top-five finishes that included 12 first-place medal winners.

            Tanner Heckel scored three individual first-place medals in the 100- and 200-meters plus javelin while also running a leg on two of the three champion relay teams.

            Both Eli Brunk and Eli Leck were double first-place individual winners with Brunk winning both the 110- and 300-meter hurdles while Leck took first in the 400 meters and pole vault. Riley Roots won the 3,200 meters and Cooper Wiens ran first in the 800 meters as well.

            The Teutons won all three of relays with Heckel, Eli Brunk, Josiah Buller and Felix Farnebo running legs on the 4×100 and 4×400 relays while Zachary Martisko, Wiens, Buller and Tyler Martisko ran legs for the winning 4×800 relay.
