LITTLE RIVER – On Tuesday the Little River softball team hosted Bennington who promptly scored a pair of wins (12-8, 18-3) over the Lady Redskins.
The two losses drop Little River to just 1-11 for the season as they prep to host area rival Inman on Friday.
In game one, Little River held a 4-2 lead after three innings when Bennington pushed three runs across in the fourth followed by the Lady Redskins retaking the lead in the bottom of the inning with a pair of runs.
The game was tied 7-7 at the end of seven innings before Bennington poured five runs across in the top of the extra inning and while Little River added a run in the bottom of the inning, it was not enough and they took the four-run, 12-8 loss.
Kinsley Wohletz had a double with a pair of hits while Courtney Stansbury also had a pair of hits to lead the Lady Redskins. Wohletz pitched for Little River and took the loss despite striking out 13.
It was all Bennington in the nightcap as they scored 18 runs over the first two innings to earn the final 18-3 win.
Kinsley Wohletz again had the hot bat for Little River, making the most of her two at-bats with a pair of doubles. Jailyn Millar pitched the second game and took the loss.
