            LINDSBORG – It was a rough day for the Smoky Valley softball team on Friday when they hosted Pratt as the Lady Greenbacks held the Lady Vikings to just one run in two games in taking a two game (12-0, 16-1) sweep of Smoky Valley.

            With the two losses, the Lady Vikings fall to 6-8 overall and 6-6 in Central Kansas League play. They will be back on the competitive diamond on Friday at Larned.

            In game one, Pratt held a 4-0 lead after four innings before pouring four runs across the plate in both the fifth and sixth innings while holding the Lady Vikings scoreless.

            Smoky Valley only had three hits in the game as Karee Adam worked the mound.

            Pratt jumped all over Smoky Valley in the second game, scoring four in the first, one in the second, eight in the third and three more in the fourth in getting the final 16-1 win.

            Highlight for the Lady Vikings was Karee Adam went 2-for-2 at the plate while Maggie Ryals and Ava Broxterman shared pitching duties.

GAME 1:

Scoring: Pratt > 0-1-0-3-4-4-x = 12-8-0;  LADY VIKINGS > 0-0-0-0-0-0-x = 0-3-8.

LADY VIKING HITTING LEADERS: Rylie Tolle, Maggie Ryals, Tinley Scott each had a hit.

LADY VIKING PITCHING: Karee Adam pitched, now 4-4 for season.  

GAME 2:

Scoring: Pratt > 4-1-8-3-x-x-x = 16-16-0;  LADY VIKINGS > 0-0-0-0-x-x-x = 1-5-0.

LADY VIKING HITTING LEADERS: Karee Adam went 2-for-2 with one run scored; Rylie Tolle, Maggie Ryals, and Campbell Gaskill each had a hit. Ryals had only run batted in.

LADY VIKING PITCHING: Maggie Ryals and Ava Broxterman pitched, Ryals took the loss – now 2-4 for season.
