            GOESSEL – Both the Little River track/field teams dominated at the Wheat State League meet on Thursday in Goessel with two team titles and 13 individual titles.

            The Lady Redskins rolled up 183 points easily outdistancing second-place Goessel with 108. Elyria Christian, Wakefield and Herington rounded out the top five.

            Kami Grasser won four first-place medals on the day, winning both the 100- and 200-meters while also running a leg on the league winning 4×100 and 4×400 meter relay teams.

            Other individual champions for the Little River girls included Ashley Stephenson in the 800 meters, Aubrey Olander in the high jump and Havana Olander in the triple jump. Both Stephenson and Alaina Eck ran legs on the 4×100 and 4×400 meter relay teams with Grasser with Elsie Boughfman running the fourth leg in the 4×100 and Arika Feldman being the fourth runner on the 4×400 quartet.

            The Lady Redskins had 22 top-three finishes in the meet including a one-two-three finish in both the high jump and triple jump.

            For the Little River boys, they scored 141 points, well ahead of second place Canton/Galva who had 86. Goessel, Rural Vista, and Herington rounded out the top five.

            Treyton Olander and Braxton Lafferty each had a pair of individual wins with Olander winning both the 800 and 1,600 meters while Lafferty scored wins in the triple jump and javelin. Tristan Bristow took first in the pole vault and the 4×800 meter relay team of Kyler Bergkamp, Ty Janette, Jaxon Konen, and Brady Oberly won as well. The Redskins totaled 13 top-three finishes.

            Heading into the regionals next Thursday in Greensburg, the Redskins will have the regional leaders in six events as Lafferty is tops in the javelin and triple jump, Kami Grasser leads in the 200 meters, Addie Strecker in the long jump, and Havana Olander in the triple jump plus the Lady Redskins 4×100 and 4×400 meter relay teams.
