As the number one seed of their Class 2-1A regional, the Little River baseball team had to wait for the play-in game to know they played Ell-Saline first and when they did, they rolled to a 10-0 win.

With the win the Redskins are now 18-1 for the season and were scheduled to play fourth seed Canton/Galva on Tuesday. Canton/Galva won their first-round game at regionals 10-7 over Bennington.

Against Ell-Saline, Little River put six runs on the board in the first two innings before adding three more in the fourth and two in the fifth that put the score at the run rule level of 11-0.

Both Braden Young and Logan Renken went 3-for-3 on the day as Renken pounded out a double and recorded four runs batted in while scoring twice and stealing a base twice. Young scored four times and led the team in stolen bases with four.

Dalton Mantz chipped in with a pair of hits that included a double while knocking in three runs and scoring twice. As a team, Little River had 10 hits and 10 stolen bases in the five innings of play.

Helping get the win was an outstanding job on the pitchers mound by Spencer Strecker who threw 60 pitches over five innings, gave up but one hit, walked only two and struck out six.
