            On Wednesday, the Little River baseball team finished off their Class 2-1A regional with a 4-1 win over Salina Sacred Heart in the championship game to give the Redskins the opportunity to play next week at the Class 2-1A State Tournament in Great Bend on Thursday and Friday, May 25-26.

            With the win the Redskins are now 20-1 heading to the state tournament where they likely will be the number one seed as well.

            In the regional championship game neither team was able to score any runs until the fourth inning when Sacred Heart put a single run on the board and Little River put all four of their runs on the board as well.

            The Redskins won the game 4-1 despite only having three hits. Braden Young, Dalton Mantz, and Kayston Cox had the three hits for Little River while Young, Mantz, Cox, Logan Renken, and Carter Stansbury all stole a base as well.

            Dalton Mantz pitched an outstanding game for Little River, throwing 102 pitches over seven innings, giving up just a pair of hits, no earned runs, just one walk plus striking out 12.
