ELMORE, UNRUH, GAIN 2 MEDALS EACH AT STATE FOR WILDCATS

            WICHITA – Team wise, the Class 2A State Track/Field Meet did not go as hoped for the Moundridge teams as the girls finished 32^nd and the boys placed 10^th with Cammi Unruh and Kaden Elmore each earning a pair of medals.

            For the Wildcat boys, they finished with 26 team points which was good for tenth place as county rival Inman won the state title and Garden Plain and Chase County rounded out the top three.

            Kaden Elmore scored 18 of the team’s 26 points as he scored a state title in the 100 meters and ran second in the 200 meters. Logan Churchill accounted for five points with a fourth-place finish in the 400 meters.

            For a few moments, the Wildcats had another 10 team points with a win in the 4×100 meter relay before being disqualified for having a runner out of their zone.

            The Lady Wildcats scored just six points and finished 32^nd in the team standings. Garden Plain, Stanton County and Pittsburgh St. Marys/Colgan finished one-two-three in the team standings.

            Cammi Unruh accounted for four of the team points by medaling in the 200 meters for running sixth and medaling with an eighth place run in the 100 meters. Haylee Jantz had the other two team points with a seventh-place finish in the 1,600 meters.

Cammi Unruh > 100 Meters – 8^th with run of 12.89, 1 team point;  200 Meters – 6^th with run of 27.13, 3 team points.

Haylee Jantz > 1,600 Meters – 7^th with run of 5:43.40, 2 team points.

Avery Schrag > 400 Meters – 14^th with run of 1:03.53.

WILDCAT BOYS RESULTS > 10^th in team standings with 26 points.

WILDCAT BOYS INDIVIDUAL RESULTS >

Kaden Elmore > 100 Meters – 1^st with run of 10.95, 10 team points;  200 Meters – 2^nd with run of 23.00, 8 team points;  400 Meters – 9^th with run of 51.23.

Logan Churchill > 400 Meters – 4^th with run of 50.53, 5 team points.

Henry Hecox > Javelin – 12^th with throw of 146’1”.

4×100 Meter Relay (Kaden Elmore, Logan Churchill, Landon Kaufman, MacKaleb Unruh) – DQ for zone violation after winning race with time of 42.78.

4×400 Meter Relay (MacKaleb Unruh, Landon Kaufman, Freddie Others, Logan Churchill) – 7^th with run of 3:39.30, 2 team points.

4×800 Meter Relay (MacKaleb Unruh, Landon Kaufman, Aiden Burge, Freddie Others) – 8^th with run of 8:36.85, 1 team point.
