WICHITA – Laney Reiff had an unvelievable weekend at the Class 1A state track/field meet in leading the Elyria Christian Lady Eagles to a tie for third place in the team standings while winning a pair of golds plus a silver and bronze for herself.

As a team the Lady Eagles scored 39 points which tied them for third with Ness City and Little River. Washington County won the meet (55) and South Gray finished second (51).
As for Laney Reiff, she took the distance events by storm in winning the 1,600 meters (5:25.35), finishing second in the 3,200 meters and running a personal record while placing third in the 800 meters.
Reiff then topped the day off by running the final leg for the Lady Eagles state champion 4×800 meter relay team that included Grace Prescott, Macy Reiff, and Ryland Hawkinson.

Kenna Cass earned the other five team points with the fourth best throw and personal best in the discus.
For the Eagle boys, Blake Robertson was the only participate and he finished eleventh in the discus.

Grace Prescott > 200 Meters – 11th with run of 27.91; 400 Meters – 11th with run of 1:03.24.
Kenna Cass > Discus – 4th with a throw of 107’9” (personal record), 5 team points.
4×800 Meter Relay (Grace Prescott, Macy Reiff, Ryland Hawkinson, Laney Reiff) – 1st with run of 10:14.52, 10 team points.
EAGLE BOYS RESULTS > No team points scored.
EAGLE BOYS INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:
Blake Robertson > Discus – 11th with throw of 132’8”.
